Tel Aviv opens Memorial with 6-5 win over Bratislava

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC — Kyle Bergman scored twice to earn MyRegistry MVP honors as Tel Aviv LC opened their 2016 campaign in the Aleš Hřebeský Memorial with a 6-5 win over Bats Bratislava on Wednesday evening at LCC Radotin.

Aaron Tracy, Bryan Hopper and Cooper Levitan each added a goal apiece, while Joshua Bernstein and Franklin Pargh chipped in one assist. Chris Leone (30:00, 5 GA) earned the win in goal with a strong showing against the Slovaks.

Tel Aviv (1-0) meets Czech club TJ Malešice (1-0) at 8:50 AM local time Thursday (9:50 AM Israel / 2:50 AM Eastern Time).

The win qualifies the Israelis for the playoff round; they’ll compete in the Round of 16 on Thursday afternoon.
