NYMBURK, CZECH REPUBLIC — The Israel women’s national team made a pair of transactions on the eve of the 2015 European Championships, adding forward Ifat Ribon and defender Katie Mazer to their 18-player active roster.
Ribon, a native of Rehovot, Israel, makes her third appearance for Team Israel; she was a member of the team at the 2012 European Lacrosse Festival in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as well as at the 2013 FIL World Cup in Oshawa, Canada, where she scored three goals in eight matches.
Mazer, who made Aliyah in January of 2013, captained Israel’s World Cup team in Oshawa. She has resided in Tel Aviv for most of the last three years and is expected to make an instant impact on the teams’ defensive corps.
The duo replaces Megan Meluskey, who is unavailable due to injury, and Alicia Perry, who has work/personal commitments. Meluskey has joined Israel’s coaching staff as a 2nd assistant.
