Barak Netanya LC’s Jesse Parker was named STX Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Andrew Copeland was selected as Bank Hapoalim Defensive Player of the Week.
Parker, who recently wrapped up his Sophomore season at Binghamton University, scored four goals and two assists in a pair of wins for Netanya (4-2) this week, and is leading his team in goals with 14 on the season. His efforts helped Barak take down first-place Haifa LC, as well as Ashkelon LC to secure home field advantage in their first-round playoff game.
Copeland has been a standout in goal in his two starts for Netanya this week, making 19 saves and allowing just 12 goals. A natural box lacrosse goalie, Copeland but has stepped in like a seasoned pro to anchor Barak’s defense heading into the postseason.
The IPLL playoffs kick off on Monday night, when Netanya hosts Ashkelon LC in the semifinals at Shapira Field.
