ASHKELON, ISRAEL — The Israel Lacrosse Association will hold a formal Men’s National Teams tryout at the National Training Center in Ashkelon from December 27-29, 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a log-jam of major international lacrosse events in 2021, including the postponed U-19 (now U-20) World Championships, which will be held in Limerick, Ireland from June 17-26.
The Israel men’s national team will be looking to return to the gold medal game in their debut under new head coach Max Silberlicht at the Men’s European Championships, which will be held in Wrocław, Poland from July 21-30.
Israel’s roster in both major championship events will be composed of both Israeli players, as well as members of the Jewish diaspora, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the World Lacrosse and the European Lacrosse Federation.
All players who are new to the program are required to play at least one season in the Israel Premier Lacrosse League in order to qualify. Athletes living abroad who are participating in the tryout are strongly encouraged to spend December 1-30 in the ILA’s “Winter High Performance Bubble” in Ashkelon.
