Masa Recognizes Israel Lacrosse Internship Program

ASHKELON, ISRAEL – Masa Israel Journey, which offers young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 immersive, life-changing gap year, study abroad, post-college and volunteer experiences in Israel, has officially recognized the Israel Lacrosse internship program as a member of the Masa family.

Masa Israel Journey is a joint project of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel that is made possible by the generous contributions of the Jewish Federations of North America and Keren Hayesod-UIA. Masa connects young adults to programs that meet their interests, offering grants and needs-based scholarships, providing expertise, and supporting them throughout the entire process.

Participants on the Israel Lacrosse internship program have the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of the sport in Israel by coaching U-19 and U-15 teams in cities across Israel, visiting phys-ed classes and schools to recruit young athletes to try the sport, while practicing and competing at the Premier level and Israel’s National programs. Israel Lacrosse will also provide housing, cultural experiences, Hebrew classes and opportunities to travel.

Approximately 80% of Masa Israel’s budget goes toward providing universal grants and needs-based scholarships to participants of affiliated programs to help alleviate the tuition burden. The rest of our budget is used for marketing, recruitment, program development and overhead around the world.

Athletes ages 18-30 who are interested in participating in Israel Lacrosse’s inaugural Masa program beginning in September, 2015, should contact Amanda Tuck at amanda@lacrosse.co.il.
