Lacrosse Birthright is back – Register now!

Israel Lacrosse is offering Jewish college lacrosse players a free trip to Israel to tour, train, and compete this summer.

Registration is open now for the tour, which is operated in conjunction with Amazing Israel and Taglit-Birthright. The trip is completely free of charge for Jewish athletes ages 18-26.

The trip is limited to 40 Jewish athletes (20 men’s players and 20 women’s players) who are active or recent graduates of NCAA lacrosse programs. Players from club lacrosse programs are also welcome to apply.

In addition to the exhibition games, participating players will join in the grassroots development of lacrosse by coaching young Israeli athletes, as well as touring the country to gain a better understanding of what Israel and the region have to offer in sport.

“This trip was the perfect combination of fun, educational, active and rewarding,” said Hannah Deoul, who participated in the lacrosse Birthright trip in 2014. “Playing and teaching lacrosse while learning about Israel’s rich history and connecting with other Jewish athletes was an incredibly special and memorable experience.” Deoul returned to Israel following her experience to join the Israel Women’s National Team, and also served as head coach of the U-19 Women’s Team for their first World Cup appearance.

Taglit-Birthright Israel is a not-for-profit organization that sponsors free ten-day educational heritage trips to Israel for young Jewish adults, aged 18-26. Taglit is the Hebrew word for discovery. During their trip, participants are encouraged to discover new meaning in their personal Jewish identity and connection to Jewish history and culture.

The 10-day trip departs from JFK New York International Airport on June 15, 2016. Participants must cover their own travel expense to New York. Pending demand, a second trip may be added for May 31-June 9, 2016.

Athletes interested in this experience should pre-register at amazingisrael.com using the reference code “lacrosse 2016” in the referral box. Please note that all Taglit-Birthright eligibility rules apply and there are no guarantees for placement.
