ASHKELON, ISRAEL — In the second game of the IPLL Quarterfinals at New Municipal Stadium, Kiryat Gat earned their first win of the year in a stunning 10-4 win over Ashdod LC on Thursday.
Mitch Turley (5G), EL AL Player of the Game, wreaked havoc in every corner of the field, leading Kiryat Gat (1-5) to a dominant win, while Jacob Silberlicht officially joined the Kiryat Gat roster off the IPLL’s Designated Player List, chipping in two goals and two assists.
Though Alec Aloni (3G) got Ashdod (3-3) on the board first, their offense was unable to produce a run to overcome Kiryat Gat’s fierce defense led by Dan Kaufman (60:00 minutes, 16 saves) whose solid play earned him the win in the cage.
Andrew Copeland (60:00 minutes, 10 saves) was dealt the loss for Ashdod.
Kiryat Gat will meet Haifa (4-1) on Sunday at 8:00 PM at Kiryat Gat Synthetic in the IPLL Semifinals.
