ASHKELON, ISRAEL – Jake Suesserman, a native of Rye Brook, NY who has represented the blue-and-white on the field since 2018, will relocate to Israel in October to participate in Israel Lacrosse’s Masa Gap Year program.
Suesserman will live like a local, train, compete, and directly contribute to the grassroots development of the sport in Israel. The 20-year-old midfielder will also have a prioritized opportunity to be evaluated to compete at the Men’s European Lacrosse Championships held in Wroclaw, Poland from July 21-30, 2021.
Suesserman first appeared for Israel at the 2018 Heritage Cup in Providence, RI, and he contributed three goals and two assists at the 2019 edition of the event in Philadelphia, PA. He also represented Israel at the 2019 European Lacrosse Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, recording five goals and one assist in 10 games.
“Jake is a do it all midfielder that will lay it on the line for the blue and white,” said Men’s National Team Head Coach Max Silberlicht. “His commitment to the program over these last 2 years is something I hold in high regard and I look forward to seeing his development and drive towards making the National Team reach its goals.”
Suesserman is a rising junior at Muhlenberg College and a former player at Blind Brook High School where he set a school record for goals (70) his junior year and points (123) his senior year.
