ASHKELON, ISRAEL — The Israel Men’s National Team made major strides in their preperations for the 2016 ELF European Championships on Thursday, capping the Ashkelon Lacrosse Festival with a dominant 17-2 victory over the IPLL All-Stars.
The blue-and-white jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Max Wendell put the Stars on the Board in the second quarter.
Noah Miller (four goals), Caleb Brodie (three goals, one assist), Yochanan Katz (three goals) and Aaron Feinberg (two goals, one assist), led the Israelis offensively. Brodie was named EL AL Player of the Game.
Jacob Silberlicht (one goal, two assists), Jacob Milner (one goal, one assist), Ian Kadish (one goal, one assists), Alex Siegel (one goal, one assist), and Max Gradinger added singles for the Israelis. Jesse Hartman added an assist.
Wendell and Alec Aloni scored for the Stars, while Ian Mills chipped in an assist.
2014 World Team goalkeeper Reuven Dressler (20:00, 2 saves, 0 GA) got the start and earned the win in goal for the blue-and-white. Andrew Landsman (30:00, 1 save, 1 GA) and Eric Fischer (30:00, 4 saves, 1 GA) also saw action in goal.
Dan Kaufman (20:00, 9 saves, 3 GA) was dealt the loss in an admirable effort between the pipes. Jeff Handman (30:00, 9 saves, 7 GA) and Jake Reiner (30:00, 5 saves, 7 GA) saw action as well for the All-Stars.
