Ireland bests Israel in crossover/exhibition, 13-5

VANCOUVER, CANADA — Ireland defeated Israel, 13-5, in a crossover/exhibition match at Coquitlam Town Centre Park on Wednesday.

Zach Ornstein put Israel on the board just five seconds into the match, but Ireland scored six straight goals to take a 6-1 advantage at the 23-minute mark.

The blue-and-white battled back to a 7-4 deficit, but Ireland scored the next five goals to put the game away.

Schulkin (two goals), Alon Berkowitz (one goal), Mor Cohen (one goal), and Ornstein (one goal) scored for Israel. David Metzger (40:00, 3 saves, 7 GA) and Jonah Hirshorn (20:00, 2 saves, 6 GA) saw action in goal. Metzger was dealt the loss.

Israel opens their Championship slate against Hong Kong on Friday.
