Haifa jolts the “Bolts”, 12-7

NETANYA, ISRAEL — Eugene Arkhipov scored five goals as Haifa LC earned a decisive win over Barak Netanya LC, 12-7, at Shapira Field on Sunday evening to kick off Week 3 of the Israel Premier Lacrosse League (IPLL).

Netanya had a fast start with three straight goals to open the game; however, Haifa would score 12 of the next 13 goals to take command of the game, taking a 12-4 lead.

The “Bolts” finished strong, outscoring Haifa 3-0 in the fourth quarter, but it only made a small dent in the eight-goal deficit.

Dan Kravitt added three goals and two assists for Haifa (3-1), while Alex Rabin chipped in two goals and one assist. Ted Bergman (60:00, 13 saves, 7 GA) earned the win in goal.

Drew Lazar and Jake Milner each had three goals and one assist for Netanya (1-3).

Haifa is looking good for the playoffs and hope to keep rolling when they meet Ashkelon (2-1) on Thursday. Netanya takes on Sderot (2-1); the game is a must-win and they’ll need some help to advance to the Final Four.
