ASHKELON, ISRAEL – Jackie Gordon has been named Acting Head Coach of the Israel Women’s National Program, as the ILA returns to normal training and game action inside the “High-Performance Bubble”.
Gordon, a native of Balitome, will serve a month-long stint inside the Ashkelon Bubble. Her responsibilities include evaluating talent and directly coaching the Women’s and U-20 national team training sessions throughout December.
The ILA women will formally re-launch game action on December 6, as the 42 person player pool is split amongst Israel Blue and Israel White squads. The women are expected to play at least 10 games over the month-long period.
Gordon will be joining the Israel Lacrosse staff in Ashkelon as the acting head coach for the Women’s National Team. The Women’s National Team is preparing for the 2021 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship in Towson, Maryland, the 2022 Maccabiah Games in Israel, and The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Israel Lacrosse Association will hold a formal Women’s National Teams training/tryout camp at the National Training Center in Ashkelon from December 1-30, 2020. The Israel women’s national team is currently ranked sixth in the world and second in Europe.
Gordon began her partnership with Israel Lacrosse on the Winter Service trip in 2015 and 2016.
Gordon is entering her fifth season as the Varsity Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Franklin High School, coming off their best record, a regional final, and revamping the program with a competitive culture. Gordon is also a Physical Educator and Athletic Director at Franklin Middle School in Baltimore, MD.
Gordon is the current Director of Jewish Life at 6 Points Sports Academy and the Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) original specialty camp since its inception in 2010 where she was the former lacrosse coach.
An educator at Temple Shalom, for over 25 years, she has been running youth programming and experiential learning. Gordon also owns and operates “It’s Game Time Sports”, a summer camp in the Reisterstown, MD community providing youth sports training based around Skills, Sportsmanship, and Success for the past 10 summers.
