ASHKELON, ISRAEL — The competition was tight at the New Municipal Stadium in Ashkelon to start the IPLL quarterfinals where Ashkelon LC took down Barak Netanya LC, 11-9.
Making plays all over the field, Ken Kasule (2G, 1A), provided Ashkelon with the boost they needed to overpower Netanya, earning EL AL Player of the Game honors.
It looked like we would head to halftime tied at four in the second quarter but Ashkelon’s Caleb Brodie (1G) put in his sole goal of the game with 45 seconds left to take the 5-4 lead into the half.
Max Wendell (1G, 2A) widened the gap quickly for Ashkelon (4-2), slamming one home 15 seconds into the third quarter. Noah Parker (3G) dominated the face-off X, giving Ashkelon ample opportunities to seal the win.
Logan Miller (3G) led the charge for Barak Netanya (1-5) with Jacob Milner contributing 4 assists.
Gabe Gross (60:00 minutes, 6 saves) earned the win between the pipes for Ashkelon. Duncan Kleinfeld (60:00 minutes, 8 saves) was dealt the loss.
Ashkelon advances to the IPLL Semifinals, where they will meet Be’er Sheva LC (4-1) on Monday at 10:30 PM local.
