2022 Winter Service Trip Games Recap

ASHKELON, ISRAEL – The Israel Winter Service Trip teams brought grit and intensity as they matched up with their older counterparts. As a culmination of the 2022 Winter Service Trip (WST) the Israel Lacrosse Association put on two exhibition games.

The first matchup saw a women’s Blue vs. White game featuring the WST combining teams with the coaches and player pool building towards the 2023 U21 Women’s European Championship held this coming summer in Prague, Czech Republic.

Charlize Wolf (5g, 3a) led all the women with 8 points while Sara Mendelson (6g) and Ashley Auerbach (5g, 1a) posted 6 each. Rising star goalkeeper Sydney Proper, was impossible to miss in cage making incredible saves all night, many of which were right on the doorstep.

For Sabra players, Lishay Halali was also stellar in cage with Shirin Atedgi, Talya Schnit and Sonya Dobrikin all making impactful plays between the lines.

The second game between the WST and a combination squad of the Men’s Senior and U21 National teams saw Team Israel prevail 10-5. Ian Kadish (4g, 1a) led the men with 5 points with Ori Bar-David (2g), Ronan Abramovich (2g) and Wylie Sherman (1g, 1a) posting 2 points each in the victory.

Drew Morris (20:00, 5 saves, 3 ga) and Reuven Dressler (20:00, 4 saves, 2 ga) split halves in goal and maintained a rock-solid backline to propel Team Israel to victory.

Max Kukuy (2g), Spencer Cymbler (1g, 1a) and Kevin McCarthy (2a) led the WST with 2 points each while Henry Waisburg (40:00, 5 saves, 10 ga) played the entire game and notched a handful of impressive saves including multiple in the first half to keep Team WST in the game.
