Israel announces roster for U-19 Women’s Worlds

ASHKELON, ISRAEL — The Israel Lacrosse Association has announced a 19-player roster for the Israel women’s national team which will compete at the 2019 FIL Women’s U-19 World Championship, held in Peterborough (Ontario), Canada, from August 1-10.

Israel’s roster is composed of both Israeli players, as well as members of the Jewish Diaspora, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL).

The roster was selected after a series of evaluations held through the Fall and Winter.

“I am so excited to see this team compete in August,” said Israel head coach Alex Freedman. “These young women are talented, they are hungry, and they have been so dedicated in their preparation for this tournament. I cannot wait to see all their hard work pay off.”

Israel made their debut in U-19 Women’s play in 2015 and is currently ranked 14th in the world. As many as 24 teams are expected to compete in Peterborough, including newcomers from Kenya, Puerto Rico and Taiwan.

Israel will also be competing in the U-15 and U-18 divisions of the FIL World Lacrosse Festival in Peterborough from August 4-10. Spots are still available for both teams; contact alex@lacrosse.co.il for more information.
