Haifa LC’s Justin Diamond was named STX Offensive Player of the Week, while Barak Netanya LC’s Austin Wolf was named Bank Hapoalim Defensive Player of the Week.
Diamond, who is leading Haifa (2-0) in scoring, put up two goals and two assists on opening night against Ashkelon, and followed it up with a monster five-goal evening on Thursday against Tel Aviv. The 19-year-old forward plays collegiately at Boston University.
Wolf has been a defensive force for Netanya (2-0), anchoring a team that allowed Tel Aviv to score just seven goals on Wednesday and Ashkelon nine goals on Thursday. The 19-year-old defenseman plays collegiately at RIT.
The two undefeated teams will meet on Tuesday night at Shapira Field in Netanya.
