ASHKELON, ISRAEL — Ashkelon LC secured their first win of the season in thrilling fashion on Monday night, defeating Tel Aviv LC, 8-7, in a comeback win at New Municipal Stadium.
Trailing 5-3 at halftime and 6-5 after three quarters, Ashkelon did not have much of an answer for Tel Aviv standout Matt Flapan, who finished with four goals and one assist.

Finnish goalkeeper Juri Elonen was named the EL AL Player of the Game for Ashkelon, stopping eight shots in the win. Mitch Goldberg added three goals for Ashkelon.
Reuven Dressler was strong in net for Tel Aviv in the loss, recording nine saves.
