Ashdod pounds Barak Netanya, 10-4

ASHDOD, ISRAEL — Ashdod LC went on a seven-goal first-half run to roll past Barak Netanya LC, 10-4, at Ashdod Sport Club on Wednesday.

17-year-old Mor Cohen, who departs for Israel’s national team training camp en route to Vancouver on Thursday morning, was named EL AL Player of the Game for Ashdod (2-0), finishing with one goal and three assists.

Alec Aloni (three goals), Noah Hirshorn (two goals) and Zachary Penfil (two goals) also had big nights for Ashdod.

Max Gradinger and Harrison Rappaport each added singles, while Andrew Copeland Copeland (60:00, 5 saves, 4 GA) earned his second straight win in goal.

Joshua Schwartz (two goals), Zachary Ornstein (one goal) and Logan Kupferman (one goal) were responsible for Netanya’s offense. Noah Katz (60:00, 6 saves, 10 GA) was dealt the loss in cage.

Ashdod is back in action on Tuesday night, when they host Haifa (1-1) at Ashdod Sport Club. Netanya (0-2) hosts Be’er Sheva (1-1) on Sunday night at Tubruq Field.
