The Israel Lacrosse Association is closely monitoring all relevant advisories and directives associated with the global coronavirus pandemic and the possible impact on events held in Israel and abroad.
The ILA recognizes that the health and safety of our athletes is the organization’s primary responsibility above all else. Due to the rapid development of this situation in varying countries, we will update this report frequently as we collect real-time information from Israel’s Ministry of Health, Israel’s Ministry of Sport, World Lacrosse, the European Lacrosse Federation, the World Health Organization and our partner host organizing committees across the globe.
As of 4 May, the Israel men’s and women’s national teams are permitted to practice at the Israel Lacrosse National Training Center as well as Wingate Institute with significant precautionary measures. All other groups are not permitted to practice at this time, and all domestic matches, league play in Israel remain suspended. Individual training sessions and private lessons are also not permitted.
The directives will impact scheduled travel abroad for training and competition. Per Israel’s most recent Ministry of Health directives, all persons who return to Israel from anywhere in the world will be transferred by the Home Front Command to a State-operated isolation hotel for 14 days counting from the day of their return.
It is important to note that the State of Israel is known for going to great lengths to protect our citizens, at home and abroad. To date, the policy and guidelines that have been introduced by Israel’s Ministry of Health have been widely viewed as “ahead of the curve”, albeit aggressive compared to other countries.
The ILA is proud of the State of Israel’s unified, national response to the coronavirus crisis and we believe we will be amongst the first nations in the world to safely return to normal daily life. Until then, despite obvious limitations, it is our belief that lacrosse and sport in general has a key role in national resilience and morale, and the ILA intends to operate several formal initiatives and programs online to creatively engage and educate our community in Israel and abroad.
During this period of uncertainty, the ILA has taken several responsible financial measures in line with other sports associations in Israel. Some of our personnel have taken voluntary vacation during this period, and we ask for your patience if you are attempting to contact us. Senior staffers have agreed to reductions in compensation and other responsible actions are being taken to sustain our association through this time.
Below are the current status reports of all major Israel Lacrosse events, both domestically and abroad, through July 2019:
Men’s field national team joint-training with Germany
18-19 April in Dresden, Germany
The training sessions have been canceled. The ILA and the German Lacrosse Federation (DLaxV) have agreed to maintain communications in regards to the possibility of rescheduling the friendlies when the situation improves.
Men’s box national team training at E-BOX and Ales Hrebesky Memorial
20-25 April in Prague, Czech Republic
The events have been canceled. The ILA will monitor developments and if relevant will consider participation in alternative box lacrosse events in Czech Republic in August and September.
U-19 men’s field national team training at ISB Brussels Tournament
2-3 May in Brussels, Belgium
The event has been canceled.
Team Israel hybrid squads at Heritage Cup Tournament
22-25 May in Philadelphia, PA 9-12 October in the New York/Long Island area
The 2020 Heritage Cup has been postponed to the weekend of 9-12 October and is now expected to be held in the New York / Long Island area. The ILA will participate in the re-scheduled Fall event with both men’s and women’s teams comprised of mostly US-based players.
Israel Lacrosse Taglit-Birthright trip
5-16 July in Israel
Taglit-Birthright has canceled all trips through July, with intent to resume programs in August
U-19 men’s field national team at World Championship
8-19 July in Limerick, Ireland
The Israel U-19 men’s field national team was scheduled to participate in the 2020 World Lacrosse Men’s U-19 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland from 8-19 July. On 24 March, World Lacrosse made a statement indicating that the event will not be held in 2020. It is presumed that the event will be rescheduled for 2021 and the upper-age limit will be expanded to avoid previously eligible players from “aging out”.
Men’s field national team at European Championship
22 July-2 August in Wrocław, Poland
The Israel men’s field national team was scheduled to participate in the 2020 European Lacrosse Championship in Wrocław, Poland, from 22 July-2 August. On 25 March, the European Lacrosse Federation made a statement indicating that the event will not be held in 2020. It is presumed that the event will be rescheduled for 2021.
Israel women’s national team tryouts
Tryouts for the Israel women’s national teams competing in 2021 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship in Baltimore Maryland, the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, and the 22nd Maccabiah Games in Israel have not yet been scheduled. The tryouts are expected to take place the weekend of 2-4 October and/or 9-11 October (location TBD). A week-long training camp in Israel is tentatively being planned for December. A complete women’s national teams calendar for 2020-2021 is expected to be published in the near future.
השפעת נגיף הקורונה בישראל על אירועי הלקרוס בארץ (עודכן ב 29.3)
איגוד הלקרוס בישראל עוקב מקרוב אחר כל ההוראות והנחיות הרלוונטיות הקשורות לנגיף הקורונה העולמי וההשפעה האפשרית על אירועים הקשורים לענף בארץ ובעולם.
האיגוד מכיר בכך שהבריאות ובטיחות של הספורטאים שלנו היא האחראיות העיקרית של הארגון מעל הכל. עקב להתפשטות המהירה של הנגיף במדינות סביב העולם, אנו נעדכן דוח זה בזמן אמת עם קבלת כל מידע חדש ממשרד הבריאות של ישראל, משרד התרבות והספורט הישראלי, איגוד הלקרוס הגלובלי, איגוד הלקרוס האירופאי, ארגון הבריאות העולמי, והשותפים שלנו בענף סביב העולם.
נכון ל 4 במאי, נבחרת הגברים ונבחרת הנשים של לקרוס ישראל קיבלו אישור להתאמן במרכז האימונים של לקרוס ישראל ובמכון וינגייט תחת הנחיות משמעותיות. שאר הקבוצות אינן יכולות להתאמן כעת וכל המשחקים והליגות בארץ עדיין מושעות עד להודעה חדשה. יש איסור גם על אימונים אישיים ושיעורים פרטיים.
ההנחיות הללו ישפיעו על קבוצות שעתידות לנסוע לחו״ל לאימונים ומשחקים. על פי הנחניות חדשות של משרד הבריאות, כל האנשים החוזרים לישראל מכל מקום בעולם ויועברו על ידי פיקוד העורף לבתי מלון לבידוד ל 14 ימים מיום חזרתם לארץ.
חשוב לציין כי מדינת ישראל ידועה במאמץ הרב כדי להגן על אזרחיה, בבית ומחוצה לה. נכון להיום, המדיניות והנחיות של משרד הבריאות נחשבים כמתקדמים, אם כי אגרסיביים בהשוואה למדינות אחרות.
איגוד הלקרוס הישראלי גאה באופן בו מדינת ישראל הגיבה לאירועי הקורונה ובחזית המאוחדת של המדינה ואזרחיה, והאיגוד מאמין כי מדינת ישראל תהיה אחת מהמדינות הראשונות בעולם לחזור לשיגרה חיים רגילה. בתקופה זו, למרות המגבלות הברורות, אנו מאמינים שללקרוס ולעולם הספורט יש תפקיד משמעותי בהרמת חוסן ומורל לאומיים, והאיגוד מתכנן להפעיל מספר יוזמות ותכניות ברשת בכדי לחנך וליצור מעורבות בארץ ובעולם.
בתקופה זו של אי וודאות, לקח איגוד הלקרוס הישראלי מספר צעדים פיננסים בהתאם לאיגודי הספורט האחרים בישראל. חלק מאנשי הצוות של האיגוד יצא לחופשה מרצונם לתקופה זו, ואנו מבקשים את סבלנותכם אם אתם מנסים ליצור איתנו קשר בימים אלו. בנוסף לכך עובדים בכירים באירגון הסכימו להפחתת הפיצויים ופעולות אחראיות נוספות שננקטו בזמן זה.

אימוני נבחרת הגברים בפילד לקרוס יחד עם נבחרת גרמניה
18-19 באפריל, דרזדן, גרמניה
משחקי האימון נגד נבחרת גרמניה בוטלו. איגוד הלקרוס בישראל ואיגוד הלקרוס בגרמניה ימשיכו להתעדכן ולשמור על קשר ולדון באפשרות לקיים את משחקי הידידות כאשר המצב ישתפר.
אימוני נבחרת ישראל בבוקס לקרוס ב E-BOX ואיצטדיון אלס הרבסקי
20-24 באפריל פראג, צ’כיה
האירוע בוטל. איגוד הלקרוס בישראל ממשיך להתעדכן במצב ואם רלוונטי האיגוד ישקול את האופציה לקחת חלק בתורניר בוקס לקרוס חלופי בצ׳כיה באוגוסט וספטמבר.
אימוני נבחרת ישראל לגברים בלקרוס פילד מתחת לגיל 19 בטורניר ISB בריסל
2-3 במאי בבריסל, בלגיה

נבחרות ישראל היברידים בטורניר גביע המורשת
22-25 במאי בפילדלפיה, פנסילבניה 9-12 באוקטובר, ניו יורק/לונג איילנד
גביע המורשת 2020 נדחה לסוף השבוע של ה 9-12 באוקטובר וכעת צפוי שהטורניר יתקיים באזור ניו יורק/לונג איילנד. נבחרות הגברים והנשים של איגוד הלקרוס הישראלי יקחו חלק בטוקניר בסתיו, עם רוב של שחקנים המתגוררים בארצות הברית.
טיול תגלית וישראל לקרוס
נכון לעכשיו תגלית בטלה את כל הטיולים שלה לארץ עד סוף חודש יולי ומתכננים לחדש טיולים לארץ בחודש אוגוסט.
נבחרת ישראל בפילד לקרוס מתחת לגיל 19, גברים, אליפות העולם
8-19 ביולי, לימריק, אירלנד
נבחרת ישראל בפילד לקרוס מתחת לגיל 19 גברים הייתה אמורה להשתתף באליפות העולם בלקרוס מתחת לגיל 19 לשנת 2020 בלימריק, אירלנד מה 8-19 ביולי. ב 24 במרץ, איגוד הלקרוס העולמי פרסם הצהרה על כך שהאירוע לא יתקיים השנה, 2020. כרגע, יש להניח שהאירוע יתקיים בשנה הבאה, 2021, ויכלול גם שחקנים בני 20, כך שאף שחקן לא יפגע מדחיית האירוע.
נבחרת ישראל גברים בפילד לקרוס באליפות אירופה
22 יולי – 2 באוגוסט בורוצלב, פולין
נבחרת ישראל בפילד לקרוס הייתה אמורה להשתתף באליפות אירופה 2020 בורוצלב, פולין מה 22 ביולי עד ה 2 באוגוסט. ב 25 במרץ, איגוד הלקרוס האירופאי פרסם הצהרה על כך שהאירוע לא יתקיים השנה, 2020. כרגע, יש להניח שהאירוע יתקיים בשנה הבאה, 2021.
מבחני קבלה לנחברת ישראל נשים
טרם נקבעו תאריכים למבחני הקבלה לנבחרת הנשים שתתחרה באליפות העולם בלקרוס נשים 2021 בבולטימור, מרילנד, משחקי העולם 2022 בבירמינגהם, אלבמה ובמשחקי המכביה ב 22 בישראל, שטרם בקבע תאריך לאירוע. מבחני הקבלה צפויים להתקיים בסוף השבוע של ה 2-4 באוקטובר ו/או ה 9-11 באוקטובר (המיקום טרם נקבע). נכון לעכשיו תכנון שבוע האימונים בישראל הוא לחודש דצמבר, אבל לא חד משמעית. הלו״ז המלא של נבחרת הנשים ל 2021-22 יפורסם בעתיד הקרוב.
