Heritage Cup will be postponed to October 9-12 weekend

Israel will be competing in the fifth-annual Heritage Cup at Haverford College.

The 2020 Heritage Cup has been postponed to the weekend of October 9-12 and is expected to be held in the New York / Long Island area. More details surrounding the weekend’s events and participating international and NCAA college teams will be announced in the coming weeks.

Team Israel players who have made payments may choose to apply those payments to the Fall event or request a refund. Israel Lacrosse staff will be contacting you in the coming days with more information.

Interested players who would like to register for the new dates should contact Seth Mahler (mens and U15 boys) at seth@lacrosse.co.il and Sarah Meisenberg (womens) at sarah@lacrosse.co.il.  Please be patient with responses as our staff are working at limited capacity in the coming weeks.

Team Israel was scheduled to join squads representing 12 other countries when they competed in the fifth-annual Heritage Cup at Haverford College from May 22-25, 2020.

The Israelis were again expected to bring a hybrid squad, mixing U-19 prospects with current members of the men’s national team. The formula has worked in recent years for the blue-and-white, who won the tournament in 2017 and 2018.

Most of the participating teams are comprised of predominantly “heritage players” who are eligible to compete for their respective national teams under World Lacrosse criteria as non-passport holders. The primary focus of the weekend is to raise funds, awareness, and donated equipment to support the development of youth lacrosse in the eight participating countries.

Israel will also be competing in the Heritage Cup’s new Women’s and U-15 Boys divisions.

Interested players should contact Seth Mahler (mens and U15 boys) at seth@lacrosse.co.il and Sarah Meisenberg (womens) at sarah@lacrosse.co.il.
