EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND — Israel’s first-ever homegrown women’s national team made their debut on Wednesday at Peffermill Fields, suffering an 8-0 defeat to Finland at the official venue of the 2015 FIL U-19 Women’s World Cup.
While it was not the desired result for the Israelis, the match marks a historic first for the blue-and-white, who are represented by a group of young women who are almost entirely new to the game.
Israel is back in action on Thursday, meeting South Korea at 2:30 PM at Peffermill Fields.
