Israel Lacrosse Athletes in the IDF

While enlistment to the Israel Defense Forces is mandatory for all Israeli citizens who have turned 18, for athletes from abroad who make Aliyah, flexibility in the level of commitment as well as the length of compulsory military service varies based on age, skillset and physical residency.

We are tremendously proud of three young men who selflessly came to Israel solely to contribute to the development of lacrosse, and now, have chosen to make extended commitments to the defense of our country and our people: Matthew Cherry (serving 18 months on patrol of Southern border), Noah Miller (serving 18 months as Krav Maga instructor), and Jacob Silberlicht (serving 18 months, currently in training for Paratrooper unit).
